Little Chefs Make Daddy's Birthday Cake
Yesterday we went to the store for some items.
Today the little chefs donned their hats and aprons to create a delicious cake for daddy's birthday. Busily they sifted and stirred, and watched the mixer cream the ingredients. They toiled and taste tested, and toiled some more, until it was just right.
After the cake was baked and cooled, they creamed the frosting and spread it around. Finally the cake was ready for the finishing touches -- a Cheerio smile and lots of concentrated sprinkles. (Wonder who will get those pieces?)
Daddy is sure to be impressed.

well, riley had the idea for a smiley face on the cake. then i had to search the cabinets for something that would show up against chocolate frosting. it was cheerios or dried white beans or goldfish. tough decision.
