Baby Brains
Ever since those child development classes in college where we learned about object permanence and conservation of number, I've always been amazed by how the baby brain works. I'd love to look inside and see what's really going on in my kids' brains. It's interesting to watch them play and to ask them questions. Some things are just so puzzling.

#1 Riley can currently recite the days of the week in order -- abstract names which really have no meaning for her because her routine is mostly the same every day. But yet, she can't figure out which meal is which, though for the past 2/3 months, we've discussed that breakfast is the meal when you get up in the morning, lunch is in the middle of the day, and dinner is the meal before nighttime/bedtime. We have these meals every day and talk about it each day, but it just doesn't stick.
#2 Sophie can look at a clock and usually tell you what time it is (to the hour), but says things like, "B starts with breakfast," instead of "Breakfast starts with B."
Kooky stuff, I tell ya.
